"Hi, I'm Tika. Like about
half of people who live in Jakarta, I'm not originally from the city. My
hometown is a small town called Solo. I've been living in Jakarta for only
a couple of months now. People move to Jakarta usually to get a better
job, better career, better living. I didn't really plan to live in Jakarta
after graduated from psychology major at Maranatha Christian University of
Bandung. For some people who don't live in Jakarta, the city seems like
one big --too much-- crowded, unfriendly place to live. But a lot of
people still come to live in Jakarta anyway,
every year. In my case, I moved to Jakarta because I married a man who
work for living in Jakarta --my husband's not originally came from Jakarta
either--. So here I am; married, jobless and living in the city :D. And so
far I found the city is a very interesting place to live. I'm 25, just
graduated from college in March this year. What I love to do most is
writing, about anything actually. Growing up in a town where old Javanese
tradition is very much still alive, I'm very much in love with batik, the
traditional textile of Java. Other stuff I found interesting are cooking,
photography, and traveling. And from now on, I'll be reporting the daily
live of Jakarta :)" |
